Is It a Good Fit? builds decision tools for subscription plans. Each tool takes a small number of questions about how you actually use a service, compares the answers against the structure of the plans on offer, and tells you which one — if any — fits.

How a tool decides

Each tool has its own decision logic, written out in code, and its own dataset of plan structure: what each tier includes, how allowances work, what happens to them over time, and what changes on cancellation. The tool applies those rules to your answers. It does not score you or rank you against other people.

Every statement a tool makes is tied to a source. Not a summary of a source — an entry in the register on the sources page, with the date it was last read. If a question is not settled by a source, the tool is required to say so rather than fill the gap.

What these tools refuse to do

• Show prices. Plan pricing changes often and varies by promotion, market and eligibility. Rather than print a number that may already be wrong, the tools compare structure and hand you to the official page for the figures.
• Decide eligibility. Whether you qualify for a plan is the provider's call. Where a plan has a condition attached, the tool states the condition and leaves the determination to the provider.
• Recommend something when nothing fits. "No plan here is the right instrument" is one of the answers a tool can give. It is a real outcome, not an error state, and when a tool reaches it, it shows you no offer.
• Ask for personal details. There is no account, no email address and no sign-in, and no question asks for a name, an address or a contact detail. Your specific answer values are not sent anywhere by the tool: the page reads them, draws its result, and that is all it does with them. How to check the work

The sources page lists the register and every claim the tools make, each with the source it resolves to. If a claim looks wrong, the source is there to check against — that is the point of publishing it.
